Anna Ferreira

Moved to the United States and began adapting to a new language, culture, and school system. This experience later shaped my interest in communication, patient comfort, and language barriers in healthcare.

I joined a marching band and found a community that taught me discipline, teamwork, and leadership. I also began the PLTW biomedical pathway, where I discovered my interest in medicine and the human body.

Received a leadership role in band, helping recruit new members and introduce the program to middle school students. I also volunteered at my former middle school, helping younger students learn the flute.

At age 16, I chose nursing and enrolled in a Practical Nursing dual enrollment program through Orange Technical College. Through school clubs like Interact Club and Nueva Life Club, I continued serving younger students and families in need.

Worked with kids through summer camps and daily activities. These experiences helped me realize that I wanted a career where I could care for others closely and personally.

Earned my BACE, BLS, and First Aid certifications while preparing for a future in healthcare. I also joined the AdventHealth volunteer team, where I observed hospital routines, patient interaction, and the importance of professionalism in clinical settings.

Will begin clinical rotations through OTC in hospitals and assisted living facilities, gaining hands-on experience caring for patients and supporting healthcare teams.

After graduation, I will complete my Practical Nursing program and become eligible to take the NCLEX-PN, allowing me to continue building my future in patient care.
