Orange Technical College

Once I realized I wanted to pursue a career in nursing, I had the opportunity to visit Orange Technical College and explore its healthcare programs. Walking through the nursing classrooms and learning about the opportunities available made me even more certain that this was the path I wanted to follow.

That experience led me to enroll in the Practical Nursing program through a dual enrollment opportunity during high school. Since then, I’ve had the chance to build a strong foundation in patient care while learning about the human body, medical terminology, infection prevention, and the responsibility that comes with caring for others.

As a rising senior, I’m excited to begin my second year in the program, where I’ll start clinical rotations in hospitals and other healthcare settings. I’m looking forward to learning from experienced nurses, caring for patients, and applying everything I’ve learned in the classroom to real-life situations.

After graduating from high school and completing the program, I’ll be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN® licensing exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Reaching that milestone will be an exciting first step toward my long-term goal of becoming a pediatric nurse.

This program has given me more than technical skills—it has strengthened my confidence, confirmed my passion for nursing, and allowed me to begin turning a lifelong goal into a reality. It is only the beginning of my journey, and I’m excited for everything that’s still ahead.
